Boys and girls, let me tell you a story…
A number of people have been asking about a certain someone in my life, and I think it is only fair that I tell all
Let me take you back 10 years, to a time when the Slytherin Head Girl was but a sweet and innocent little girl of 17, wide-eyed and fresh-faced. She met a boy at college called Phil and they fell in love as only teenagers can – it was all sweetly passionate, joined-at-the-hip, forever and ever! But of course, these things don’t tend to go that well, not when you’re both as angsty as we were. Quite frankly, I don’t think we were very good for eachother and it was all destined to end badly…and end badly it did.
Oh, the horror! Oh, the heartbreak! Oh, the feeling like nothing else mattered, I will never love again!
*ahem*
So, yes, time passed and things moved on, and we didn’t speak to eachother for…10 years. His memory faded, and I admit, I even forgot his last name.
Now imagine that your favourite Head Girl is sitting in the beer garden of a club in Cardiff, having gone to visit her dear friend Jeremy, and across the way from her is a table with a group of young people sitting at it…and one of them looks familier. He has blonde dreads and glasses, but his face rings a bell…
I mentioned this to Jeremy and eventually, after trying to place him, I remembered his name. Jeremy, being slightly drunker and much braver than me got up and strode over to the table where he was sitting.
“Excuse me, are you called Phil?”
“Yes…”
“Did you know a girl called Chloë?”
“Yes…why?!”
“She’s over there!”
We hugged and I squealed quite a lot and smiled and we talked for ages, catching up. How odd is that?
The short version is that after a while, we realised that actually, we still fancy eachother as much as we did when we were lust-drunk teens, but the best part is that we’ve both grown up into great peopl, all the while keeping the bits of our personalities that we liked about eachother in the first place
I can’t quite explain how happy I am, and how smiley I’ve been for a while now. Fate? Maybe
And as for him living in Cardiff…well…he’s moving to Brighton in a short while to start his new job.
